Soil Samples
Soil samples are performed by auguring down and retrieving the sample from under or next to the underground storage tank. The soil samples are then delivered to an independent fully accredited analytical testing laboratory that will provide a written report on the results.

In-place Tank Decommissioning
The tank is pumped out, cut open, thoroughly cleaned out and the tank is filled with sand or pea-gravel. The fill and vent pipes are removed and a letter is issued to the property owner upon completion.

Certified Tank Decommissioning
Soil Samples are taken from each end of tank 1-2 feet below bottom of tank. The tank is pumped out, cut open, thoroughly cleaned out and the tank is filled with sand or pea-gravel. The fill and vent pipes are removed. A certificate and report are issued to the owner and filed with the state DEQ (Oregon only).

Certified Generic Remedy Clean-up (<10,000ppm)
Soil Samples are taken from around the tank to delineate the horizontal and vertical extent of contamination. Samples are analyzed to confirm that they all fall within the Generic remedy criteria. Tank is Decommissioned in place or by removal. A Generic Remedy report is written, certificate issued and filed with Oregon DEQ and property owner.

Certified Risk Based Clean-up (>10,000ppm)
Soil Samples are taken from around the tank to delineate the horizontal and vertical extent of contamination. Site is evaluated for any health and safety concerns that are present due to contamination. Lab data is compared with health and safety standards and contamination plume is estimated. Tank is Decommissioned in place or by removal. A Risk Based report is written, certificate issued and filed with Oregon DEQ and property owner.

Underground Tank Removal
The tank is pumped out, excavated, removed and soil samples taken. The tank is then transported to an approved site to have it cut, cleaned and scrapped. The hole is back filled and compacted. The ground cover and or sod are replaced at the excavation site. A Decommissioning Certification is issued to the property owner upon completion.

Tank Installation/Replacement (Underground or Above Ground Tanks)
The tank is pumped out and any usable fuel is reclaimed and any waste product will be disposed. The tank is then transported to an approved site to have it cut, cleaned and scrapped. A new underground tank is installed in its place or a new above ground tank is installed. The hole is back filled and compressed. The ground cover and or sod are replaced at the excavation site.

The tank is pumped out, and removed. The tank is then transported to an approved site to have it cut, cleaned and scrapped.
Site Remediation

Site Remediation
If petroleum contamination is discovered, cleanup of the petroleum contamination may be needed, depending on the severity. It involves the removal of the contaminated soil and disposed at a landfill and replaced with clean soil. We are able to assist you with possible insurance coverage for the cost of cleanups including Homeowners Insurance and State of Washington Pollution Liability Insurance Agency.

Environmental Site Assessment (Level 1)
An evaluation of commercial real estate environmental issues past and present to satisfy the innocent land owner defense. Property is assessed for a range of contaminants within the scope of CERCLA and petroleum products. All appropriate inquiry into the previous ownership and uses of the property along with a site visit is conducted. A full detailed report is written according to ASTM Standard E 1527-00.
